Drop in Fee: $15.00 Cost: $104.00 (8 week session) Sunday “Belly Dance For Life Fusion” Class-: Time: 3:30 PM This is an earthy fusion of Belly Dance , Latin Hip Hop blended with the native dances of the Middle East, Africa, and India. Shimmy and vibrate your hips, undulate your torso, flutter your tummy and be expressive with hypnotic and graceful arms! This grounded group dance is a beautiful way to lift your soul and leaves you smiling! If you are looking for an excellent and fun workout that tones your body while developing grace, flexibility, strength and most of all, confidence, this is it! Open to all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels. Drop in Fee: $15.00 Cost: $104.00 (8 week session) Sunday “Belly Dance For Life” -Intermediate Level -: Time: 4:30 PM Review of Beginner level, plus: the next level of technique, including various undulations, shimmies, and upper body isolations. There is an increased emphasis on musical styles, rhythms, structure and choreography. You will continue to develop technique with more advanced movements and combinations. After the first class, the rate is $12 per class (drop-in), or $120 for the semester. You get three FREE classes by paying for the semester in advance. Full-time JHU undergrads: Beginner class is always FREE! Other full-time students: After the first class, the rate is $10 per class (drop-in), or $100 for the semester. You get three FREE classes by paying for the semester in advance. Location: 33rd and Charles St. Mattin Arts Center Offitt Building Dance Room (directions) Wear comfortable clothes that you are able to move in. Bring a snack and water. Each class will teach and drill zill playing technique through Arabic percussion rhythms and musical patterns. Classes will also introduce Assaya technique and adapt Assaya into dance combinations. Assayas and Zills will be available for purchase at the studio. Completion of LI or above is required.

Bring your darbuka, your tabla, your def.... Sidqi has taught at several east coast Balkan camps, the Folktours Mideast camp, Rakassah East, and last year he taught at the Mendocino Middle East Camp in CA. He has been head of percussion at Sahara Dance for years ( but taking this summer off to do drum circles) He has made several trips to Istanbul, Turkey, in search of Romani (Gypsy) teachers. In addition, he has had great workshops in his home, with Suhail Kaspar and Issam Houshan of the Bellydance Superstars. He is also founder of WMFC, which was the first organization to bring Rehan Tuscuz from Istanbul to DC, to teach Turkish Romani dance.
