MiaNaja Oriental Danse Ensamble (M.O.D.E.), under the direction of MiaNaja al Sephira, was formed in 2000. M.O.D.E. presents a range of dance from the Raks Sharki, Raks Assaya, and other traditional dances to the fusion of R&B, reggae, jazz and alternative.
In 2009, MODE placed second in the Bellydance Nationals Competition in Maryland, and third in the North East Belly Dance Competition. Mimiteh and Khiyatta also placed in this competition as soloists. Khuzama placed in both competitions.
The members of M.O.D.E. present their group performances as well as their solo performances with energy, grace, precision, poise and excitement. Always reaching for the next level, M.O.D.E. seeks to present new and exciting dimensions of Oriental Dance.
