Over the past two years, MiaNaja and MODE have ventured into the world of competitions. In 2008, MiaNaja braved the waters first, and competed at the Viva La Diva Pageant in Boston MA, hosted by Za-Beth, and at the Jewel of the Nile competition. Her routine included the use of zils, shamadan and veils, and she earned the first runner up title for both events.

Troupe
MODE competed the next year. They placed second at the Bellydance Nationals Competition, hosted by Lotus Niraja, in Baltimore MD, and third at the Northeast Bellydance Competition, hosted by Khaleela, in Bethlehem PA. In their routine, they used wings of Isis and zils.

Gratitude
MiaNaja and MODE would like to thank many people for their help in their endeavors. Thank you to the hosts of these competitions - Za-Beth, Lotus and Khaleela - for all their hard work in arranging these huge, amazing events. Thank you also to Nadira Nasreen, MiaNaja's first bellydance instructor, and lifelong friend. All her critiques and drilling and scanning were greatly appreciated, and definitely helped. Thank you to all the friends, family, and employers that helped with various issues and who put up with alot of missing time and inconveniences. MiaNaja graciously thanks Oreet for her choreography and help in refining it. And finally, last but never least, Azhia, who provided inspiration and encouragement just when it was needed most.
