Ruta Moragh offers over two decades of dance and performance experience in Danse Orientale, commonly known as bellydance. Her journey began in New York City, appearing with Morocco and her troupe, the Casbah Dance Experience. It continued when she moved to Baltimore, teaching and performing the classic Egyptian Oriental style.
Constantly broadening her repertoire, she studied other ethnic styles including Georgian and Central Asian Dance, Turkish, and Lebanese. She had the good fortune to study with notable dancers, such as Artemis, Ava Fleming, Lotus Niraja, and Latifa Bint Beled. At the urging of a friend, she began teaching in 2004, and continues to perform both privately and at local venues.
Her creative journey continues, expanding into acting in local theatrical productions. As a result, her dance style naturally reflects an increased dramatic and emotional depth.
