Amartia is a professional belly dancer in the Baltimore/DC/Harford County area.
Amartia's career in dance started in childhood as a Greek folk dancer. She was a member of the award winning Evangelakia Greek folk dance troupe as a teenager and is currently a member of the Pan-Hellenic Golden Coins, also a Greek folk dance troupe.
Amartia has been bellydancing for seven years. During that time she has studied Egyptian and Lebanese cabaret style extensively. She is adept at all props including cane, double cane, veil- double, quadruple, septuple, fan veils, veil poi, isis wings, finger cymbals and more! She studies continually believing that there is always more to learn
She has performed at numerous venues both locally and nationally. She is a regular dancer at Sizzling Bombay Indian Restaurant, Tobacco Center Cafe and Amer's Cafe. She has performed at Rakkasah East and West and the after party at the Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Amartia is an award winning dancer having competed all over the United States. She is the 2008 Jewel of the Nile and the 2006 Miss Congeniality for Jewel of the Nile. She also holds a 1st place award from Arabian Nights Bellydance for Life for dancing with a veil.
